Zidoo Z9X: arrival in the new set-to box Android with Dolby Vision and HDR10+
The set-top box Z9X appeared among the products in the course of certification with the FCC. The device, not yet officially announced, is shaping up as an improved version of the previous Z9S (HERE our review). The exterior appearance should remain essentially unchanged, in both form and materials. The finish will be in grey aluminium, with the front characterized by the presence of a display located in the center.
The news are all contained inside the shell: Zidoo has replaced the SoC Realtek RTD1296 with the most up-to-date Realtek RTD1619DR. Then we speak of a processor with six cores based on ARM architecture Cortex-A55 paired with a Mali-GPU-G51. Then we find 2 GB of RAM DDR4 and 16 GB of memory eMMC storage.
The update of the SoC, resulting in the ability to display video in formats HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision (and then all the solutions with metadata as dynamic, where Z9S supports only HDR10. The operating system is based on Android 9.0 and OpenWRT. The HDMI 2.0 allows you to send signals with a resolution of Ultra HD at up to 60 Hz.
