Since the announcement of the reboot of the Witches, the hit series for children aired in the years ’90 – ‘2000, many have shown concerns about the new project at The CW, having fear simply to see a “tasteless soup”. Guests at the recent San Diego Comic con, however, Madeleine Mantock has responded to the part of sceptical fans tranquillizzandoli on the innovation of the new season.

“There are new characters who live in the world, a trio of new witches who discover they have special abilities, I think it is wrong to say, it is only a revival of something already seen. I saw someone describe the series as an homage to the original and is very nice,” said Mantock to US Today, “All these conflicting opinions, both legitimate, are the proof of how much the fans love the Witches. I see so many people excited and I hope that we will be able over time to involve all of us in this enthusiasm.”

The reboot of the Witches is produced by Jennie Synder Urman and directed by Brad Silberling. The screenplay is however written by Jessica O'toole and Amy Rardin.
