William is the first royal of England on the cover of a gay magazine
Prince William becomes the first member of the british royal family to appear on the cover of a gay magazine, Attitude, which he has granted an interview: “No one should be mistreated for their sexuality or for any other reason – he says – and no one should have to endure the hatred that these young people have had to endure in their lives.” William in this way is a story and it happens a few days after the massacre in Orlando, Florida, in the aftermath of the duke and duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, Tuesday, June 14, had gone to the U.s. embassy in London to offer their solidarity to the families of the 49 victims of the massacre at the ‘Pulse’ and sign the book of condolences.
The mother of the prince, Diana was an active supporter of gay rights, but – as noted by the head of the English Telegraph – not even she had pushed so far ahead that William that in the interview, stresses that “the young gay, lesbian and transgender people that I met through Attitude are really brave in speaking out and giving hope to all victims of harassment”. He also said: “Be proud of who you are, there is nothing to be ashamed of”. The magazine Attitude, which will be released on newsstands on June 22, he has already published on the home page of its website the image of the duke of Cambridge, in " portrait “cover star”, smiling with a white shirt and his hand under his chin. The photo was taken on the 12th of may last, when William has invited the editorial staff and members of the Lgbt community in Kensington Palace to discuss the issue of homophobic bullying.
