The account Instagram official of the animated series Voltron: Legendary Defender announced that new episodes will be available on Netflix from March 2, 2018.

Through Twitter, the voice actor Rhys Darbyl, the voice of the Koran, has confirmed that these new episodes will make up the fifth season of the series.

Produced by DreamWorks Animation and World Events Productions and animated by Studio Mir., Voltron: Legendary Defender is inspired by the anime series of the original 80's GoLion of Toei Animation and its adaptation to the american Voltron.

Tells the story of five guys, the Paladins of Voltron, which they will have to learn to work together to form the giant robot Voltron and use it to defeat the evil Empire of Galra.

The first season of 13 episodes premiered on Netflix on June 10, 2016 and was widespread in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia, Benelux and Latin America.

The second season, again of 13 episodes was released on Netflix on January 20, 2017; the third, of 7 episodes, has arrived on the same platform on August 4, 2017, while the fourth of 6 episodes was released on October 13, 2017.

The project would consist of 78 episodes total.
