Broken the embargo on Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, the specialized press, the american provides the first comments on the new film of Luc Besson

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets will officially launch in the Italian cinemas in the month of July, but, in the meantime, the specialized press, the stars and stripes could already have a sneak preview of the new sci-fi film signed by the French director Luc Besson.

it's driven by the same good-hearted, humane philosophies that drove THE FIFTH ELEMENT. and every single set piece is wonderfully baroque

In spite of the fears of many fans, almost all the journalists present at the premiere seem to be in agreement on the say that it is “a film visually spectacular” and “full of creatures and ideas never seen before”. Others are unbalanced more, promoting the film as “The best blockbuster of the summer.”

Now that the embargo is lifted I am free to say that HE surpassed all expectations. The best blockbuster of the summer.

Only flaw seems to be the second part of the film, with the story that it becomes “more standard and less exciting” and some dialogues that are a little clumsy as the love story central”, but on the whole, Valerian, and the City of a Thousand Planets seems to have been promoted to full marks.

Each sequence is filled w/ creatures & concepts you've never seen before. #Valerian's 2nd half becomes more formulaic, less exciting...
