Trump calls out video games for the massacres in the USA
The president of the USA, Donald Trump today released a statement in the wake of the tragic shootings of last weekend happened in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, marking the beginning of a full weekend of violence for the entire nation. After stating that America should condemn racism, bigotry, and white supremacy (for which “there is no space in Amrica”), as well as indicating the dangers of the Internet, the president, Trump continued to say, “we have to stop the glorification of violence in our society.” Among the various proposed reforms that have touched several fields, one of the guilty conduct of the murderer was found, as always, in video games.
“This includes video games gruesome, which are now the order of the day”, the president said Trump. “Today it is too easy for young people in difficulty to surround themselves with a culture that celebrates violence. We have to stop it or at least reduce it and we have to start now”.
This is just the latest episode that has led politicians to criticize in whole or in part the violent video games. It has become a sort of scapegoat (not only in USA, but also from us) every time there is violence with weapons, even though there are no scientific evidence linking the two phenomena.
