True Lies: Disney+ is developing the TV series
Schwarzenegger has starred in some action movies the most popular ever, including The Terminator, Terminator 2, Predator and Total Recall. Among the films in which he appeared many also recall True Lies.
Directed by James Cameron, True Lies saw Schwarzenegger as Harry Tasker, which at first sight seemed a man devoted to his family; in reality, Harry was a spy for an organization of anti-terrorism in the united states. The marriage of Harry and his wife Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis) had become a bit monotonous, but we think of terrorists armed to carry a little pepper in their life.
Even if the film is not entered in the history of cinema, True Lies is seen as a brand that is strong enough to deserve to be adapted into a TV series for Disney+. According to Collider, the film director McG is currently writing the project, and revealed that this is progressing well.
The series seems to be the same as the project emerged for the first time in 2017, which saw the director's own McG and James Cameron as executive producer. At the time, said Marc Guggenheim of Arrow would have had to write the screenplay, but now it seems that both the McG to do the work.
At the moment it is not clear if True Lies will take place in the same universe of Cameron's film, or instead will be a reboot. McG told Collider that the script is largely a reboot, but that the door is open for the participation of Schwarzenegger (and possibly also to that of Curtis). That said, considering that families are the target of Disney+, it's a little strange that True Lies has been thought of for this service and not for Hulu...
