Tim Cook on iPhone sales X: "is the iPhone the most sold in Q2 2018, and is very much loved by the users"
During the conference on the financial results of the second fiscal quarter of 2018, the CEO of Apple Tim Cook has not provided detailed information on the sales of iPhone X, but has, however, stated that the device has sold very well, in contrast with the reports of the last few months.
According to Tim Cook, the users have chosen the iPhone X more than any other iPhone on the market in “every week” of the quarter under review, just as in the previous quarter, i.e. the one related to the launch of the smartphone. Cook said that Apple was surprised by the fact that iPhone X was the device most popular in each week since its launch. The smartphone was the device most popular mobile in China during Q2 of this year.
The customers have chosen iPhone X more than any other iPhone every week in the march quarter, just as happened after the launch in the December quarter. We also had substantial increases in all our segments-geographic, with more than a 20% growth in China and Japan.
A much-loved product – as stated by the same Cook talking about the users-that has sold well, but that could get better results. To give a better idea, he used a metaphor about the Super Bowl: "I Think it's one of those things like when a team wins the Super Bowl. Perhaps you would like for the team to a victory with a few more points, but it is the winner of the Super Bowl and that is how we feel".
Cook has finally confirmed that Apple will “continue to offer” different iphones to meet the different needs of the users, a reference to the much-rumored line-up of 2018, consisting of three smartphones.
