Tim Cook and the CEO of the Didi Chuxing visit an Apple Store in Beijing
Apple CEO Tim Cook and the chairman of the taxi/car-sharing Didi Chuxing, Jean Liu, visited an Apple Store in Beijing this morning, a few days from the agreement between these two important companies.
As you know, last week it was announced an agreement between Apple and the Didi Chuxing: the company from Cupertino will invest 1 billion dollars to improve the services of the Didi, a company that provides a taxi service in the style of Uber, along with other options such as car-sharing and rental of luxury cars. With this investment, Apple could approach even to the chinese government, which has recently put some sticks between the wheels, making to close the shops for the e-book and the film on iTunes, with the aim to benefit local businesses. Now, Apple helps a chinese company with us $ 1 billion, launching a partnership that will serve to the Apple to access the various information on the chinese market, and to Didi have money to invest for its expansion. In addition, Apple will also have a political advantage, and could convince the government to be more lenient in the future.
This morning, Tim Cook and Jean Liu have visited an Apple Store in Beijing, after that Cook has held a meeting with other small companies and chinese developers that work for the app on the Apple store. In a small statement released to journalists, Cook has explained that the investment was done because of the Didi “has a great management team, the objective of which is environmental, in order to reduce pollution and to use the car more efficient from this point of view”.
During his visit to Beijing, Tim Cook would have also met some officials of the chinese government.
