Thor: Ragnarok – that's why it's been changed to the location where Mjolnir is destroyed

The director of Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi, explain why you changed the location where Mjolnir is destroyed; letting escape some spoilers

Only a few days ago, we showed you a new clip from the upcoming new cinecomic Marvel, Thor: Ragnarok, in which we reported a change of location for the scene in which it is destroyed Thor's hammer. Today, the director has shed light on the decision to move the scene to another place.

Attention! Following possible spoilers about the film!

When the first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok landed online, the scene in question, in which Hela destroyed Mjolnir, it was set in what fans anticipated to be the city of New York, while, in the most recent clip, the same scene was moved to the lawn in the middle of nowhere.

Interviewed by DigitalSpy, the film's director, Taika Waititi, has revealed the reason of the change of location for the iconic scene:

Originally, we shot several scenes, and other things on the set of New York. What we wanted to do was to descend on Earth and see Doctor Strange and other things, but the feeling I had is that it was not too suitable that you find yourself on the street, in an alley, and everything was so chaotic and fast in that place. We wanted to go in a more peaceful place and relax while Odin gives to the characters and his wisdom, and not to hear the doors of the stupid yellow taxis rattling in the background.

Here's the original trailer:

Imprisoned at the opposite end of the universe, and without his mythical hammer, Thor will be engaged in a race against time to be able to return to Asgard and stop Ragnarok, the destruction of the world and of the civilization asgardiana by the hand of the ruthless and powerful Hela. Before all this, however, he must survive a deadly combat between gladiators that will be paired with his old friend and a member of the Avengers, the incredible Hulk.

Expected in cinemas on 25 October 2017, the third film of the God of Thunder is directed by Taika Waititi, while the cast consists of Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (the Hulk), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Cate Blanchett (Hela), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Idris Elba (Besides), Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Jeff Goldblum (the Grandmaster), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) and Karl Urban (Skurge).
