The XFL closes forever
After the AAF we salute also the XFL. Not because it has not been successful, but... Unfortunately, however, the suspension of the season after having played exactly half of the cost too, and the league of McMahon.
In a conference call convened today, as reported by the journalist of the ESPN FIeld Yatescome reports the journalist of ESPN's FIeld Yates, the league has announced the suspension of operations (someone says that the term used is “suspension”, but “shut down”), and is minimally hinted at a possible resumption of the next season, for which we have to assume the worst.
All employees will be paid until Sunday, and then they will be left at home, and also this is not a good sign in a recovery in 2021. Remember that the XFL has guaranteed the wages of all the players until the end of the season, and perhaps, even if it is a nice gesture in respect of athletes who do not earn a certain a fortune, it was this decision to plunge the finances of the XFL, along with the loss of earnings of one-half of television rights, of the revenue from the stadiums and from merchandising which, in these latter days, was the subject of an extensive campaign of selling through all channels possible and imaginable.
