The Walking Fany – theatrical Arthur
I have noticed that I have praised more often great actresses, so it seemed right to me give a little space for the male part. For today I have chosen an actor who is doing more and more off in the world of the small screen, but I have the impression that still has not been noticed enough. Here you go: Arthur Darvill.
Born as Thomas Arthur Darvill on 17 June 1982 (age 33) in Birmingham, England. His mother, Ellie, also an actress, during the childhood of Arthur, working with masks and puppets and was a member of Cannon Hill Theatre, which was on tour around the world. A little Arthur went with the mom in the tour, helping with the puppets, until it is born sister, perhaps, may have given the spoils festivities), after which the mother went to a tv program in English for children called Playdays. The father, Nigel, instead, is a musician who played the Hammond Organ for various famous artists, such as Edwin Starr.
Now it does not surprise me most: like many other artists, even, Arthur started from a young age to take an interest in the world of the show and only 10 years old (only I'd still hands in the nose?) she joined the Stage2 Youth Theatre Company, and begins to attend Bromsgrove School.
At the end of the study, in 2000, Darvill works at the CITV channel (English for teens) as the presenter and still called himself Tom. I have seen a few pieces (you can find it on Youtube) and the one that jumps to the eye is her hair, typical of those years: the hair all to the tip and loads of gel and I am surprised it is not already bald. For anyone who is a super fan board to give us a look because it is a real gem.
At the age of 21 years, Arthur, moved to London and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and she also trains in stage combat.
His first professional debut in theatre was with the work Terre Haute by Edmund White (A young american) where he played the villain Harrison, performance, well received by the critics. In 2007, she Rob in the work Stacy, acclaimed by the critics. A year later, in theatrical production, in the role of Rex, Swimming with Sharks alongside Helen Baxendale (A perfect villain), Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), and the beloved Matt Smith (Doctor Who – sure, they knew each other from before).
Always in 2008, is also her television debut in the TV movie He Kills Coppers, and in the mini-series Little Dorrit as Tip Dorrit. The 2009 and 2010 seem to be busy years for Arthur: he gets a small part in Ridley Scott's Robin Hood; interprets Cameron's Pelican Blood; he plays the role of Mick Gallagher in the film Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll; then, we find him at the theatre with the work Marine Parade and finally starts her fantastic adventure in the role of Rory Williams in Doctor Who, appearing for the first time in the first episode of the fifth season (The eleventh hour) that aired on April 3, 2010. Rory was first the boyfriend and then husband of Amy Pond, played by the beautiful Karen Gillan, and then a companion of the Eleventh Doctor, already named Matt Smith.
The character of Rory was really fantastic and fun, according to me, a little too cheesy at the beginning, but with the go ahead of the episodes, you can perceive really how much he loved Amy, he has waited 2000 years for her! Unfortunately, their story ends in the seventh season with the fifth episode “The angels take Manhattan”; even if they have lived a happy life, not to see them wander around the TARDIS, I broke the heart. However, Arthur was more than excellent and the series did increase his reputation around the globe.
Meanwhile, in 2011, returns to the theatre in the role of Mephistopheles in the opera theatre, Doctor Faustus at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre of London (remarkable!). In 2012, she guest-starred in The series The Paradise – The paradise of the lord, is in the theater with Our Boys in the role of Parry, and the next year he took part in two episodes of The White Queen. Between 2013 and 2014 is the protagonist of three short Crazy for You, Penguin (voice), Captcha and plays the Reverend Paul Coates in the fantastic TV series Broadchurch alongside Olivia Colman (The Iron Lady) and my beloved David Tennant (Doctor Who, Marvel's Jessica Jones), a role he will resume in the upcoming third and final season. In the same period, continues to do theatre interpreting Guy in the work Once (on Broadway and in the West End). Always at the theatre in 2015 Arthur becomes Long John Silver in Treasure Island. Currently she is playing the role of Hunter in the series DC's Legends Of Tomorrow, to be aired for the first time on the 21st of January 2016 and that is making it even more famous. Of course I follow the TV show and I have to admit a little reluctantly, which actually is not one of the best series made (undoubtedly better than some that are still in circulation), but still very pleasant and full of action and I am glad they have renewed for a second season. Sincerely, every actor involved in Legends Of Tomorrow is worthy of note, they all have excellent acting skills (maybe Ciara Renée does not convince me much), but I always look at with admiration of Arthur/Rip and my ears rejoice every time who utters the word with his fantastic English accent.
Darvill is not only an actor but also a musician and composer. In fact, he worked for several years For Walker to compose the incidental music and the songs of his plays, for example: The Frontline, Been So Long and The Lightning Child.
Now, for some curiosity. Arthur is tall 1.80 m and remained very united with Karen and Matt. He plays the guitar since childhood, when his father bequeathed it to him as gift), piano, and keyboard and formed an indie band by the name of Edmund, apparently to Edmund Pevensies his favorite character in the saga " The Chronicles of Narnia. He performed the ceremony of the Tony Awards 2013, and presented one of the categories. Took part in the campaign charity Thomas Coram Foundation for Children as well as Tom Hiddleston, E. L. James and Jo Brand. He likes to cook, spend time with himself playing the piano or the guitar to relax, collect stuffed animals, but it ensures (with certificate) that have not been killed for that purpose. From her Instagram we know that she has a beautiful dog named Tommy and all the cast of Legends Of Tomorrow, is very close-knit. Two years ago, Arthur sang on BBC Radio 1 a version parody of “Let It Go” where she complained of being recognised as Rory Williams; very cute and fun, you can find the video on the official Youtube channel of the radio. To conclude I must, however, ensure that some lucky girl if it is caught; it seems to you, but I can't confermarvelo to 100%. In any case, this is not the imported, what matters is his skill as an actor and a musician, and that all of us fans continue to support him.
Hoping to have done a worthy portrait of the brilliant Arthur Darvill, I wish you a good weekend with a nice #MemeWeek.
