The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods – Episode 24: Love furious | Review

Unfortunately for the many fans of this animation series, the time has come the long awaited and feared at the same time: the conclusion of this season.

It certainly would have been desirable to the end of the season most incisive, however, the episode reserves some interesting surprises.

As we could see in the previous episode of Kamigami no Gekirin, which you can find here my review, Estarossa has started to unleash a power really out of the ordinary even for a Demon like him, to the point of putting in serious difficulties, even the two Archangels.

We also know that the “half brother” was born without demonic powers, despite being the son, exactly like his brothers Meliodas and Zeldris of the King of the Demons in the person, and, as if that were not enough, since small Estarossa has always been closed, shy, and suffered, also because of the continuous teasing: it was not only without powers, but was not hurt a fly, something very strange for a Demon like him.

And yet, there were two people that I loved him and that they have never teased, in fact, to the contrary, they have always been close and have always tried to understand it: Meliodas and Elizabeth.

But Estarossa has always admired his older brother: strong, powerful, self-confident, Meliodas has always been for him a model to follow, in the hope of one day become just like him.

But Estarossa has never been a balanced individual, and now that he has started to absorb into himself other Commandments over his madness has taken absolute control of his mind...

Not being as powerful as its brethren, the body of Estarossa is rejecting the Commandments that he has absorbed recently, which has had a negative effect on his already precarious mental balance.

During the course of the episode, and more exactly right in the initial scenes, you'll see a very young Estarossa while talking with Elizabeth and Meliodas: if, on the one hand, the Goddess and the urges to remain faithful to himself, on the other Meliodas leads him to believe that his little brother will be able to become as strong as him.

Estarossa is then located between the anvil and the hammer, and this dualism will greatly contribute to render even the most profound fracture in his soul and in his mind. The truth is that he doesn't like to be weak, intimidated by everything and, for this, the object of teasing by the other members of his clan, which will make his choice: to try to reach the level of Meliodas.

This desire for emulation, however, will go far beyond that: now, Estarossa does not want to be like Meliodas, but Meliodas.

Another detail, that may seem secondary, but it certainly is not, is represented by the feelings that Estarossa test for Elizabeth and by their nature: these feelings towards the beautiful and merciful Goddess are sincere? She is really in love, or even love has become a part of his transformation process, Meliodas?

The Holy War is an event that will last for a long time, and it was evident that the end of the same would not have coincided with the end of this season, so we will have to wait until next year to be able to enjoy This is not a goodbye but only a see you in the next season of Nanatsu no Taizai!
