The Research Triangle Park will be the site of the new campus of Apple?
In the month of January, Apple announced plans for the beginning of the work of a new campus in the United States. The venue will be announced in the coming months, but several sources indicate that the structure will be realized in the area of Research Triangle Park.
According to these sources, Apple would have already chosen the Research Triangle Park as an area to build its next campus. The “Research Triangle” is in North Carolina and is so called because it is located near three major universities that do research their point of strength: Duke University, NC State University and the University of North Carolina.
This area is recognized as one of the most important in the world as regards research, includes 2 million square feet of buildings and one of the areas most “smart” of the United States. More than 50% of the population has a degree, with 8,500 young people each year graduate in one of the three universities in the area.
The RTP is the property of the organisation not-for-profit Research Triangle Foundation, whose mission is aligned with the philosophy of Apple. For all of these reasons, the decision to create there a new campus, for the most part dedicated to technical support, makes a lot of sense.
