Interviewed by ScreenGeek, Gerry Conway, creator of the Punisher, said the four versions, a live-action character has been so far.

Frank Castle was played by Dolph Lundgren in the movie The Avenger, directed by Mark Goldblatt, and released in 1989. A version that Conway has simply defined as “terrible”.

Later it was Thomas Jane to be the face of the Punisher in the 2004 movie directed by Jonathan Hensleigh. For Conway, it is treated to a version of the “little brutal”.

Ray Stevenson has picked up the baton in the Punisher – war Zone, directed by Lexi Alexander and released in 2008. In this case, Conway argues that the interpretation was “too brutal”.

The author claims that his Punisher favorite is Jon Bernthal, present the interpreter in the transpositions television Netflix: “Jon Bernthal gives the Punisher that kind of pathos at the base of a guy so soon. And I like that.”

In the cast of the series, Marvel's The Punisher include Jon Bernthal in the role of Frank Castle/The Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll in the role of Karen Page and Ben Barnes (Westworld, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian) in the role of the villain. Bernthal made his debut in the role of the Castle in the second season of Daredevil.
