The next Apple Pencil could expand the support to the Magic Trackpad
A little less than a year after the presentation of the first version of Apple's Pencil, already there are rumors of the second generation, according to the latest rumors, may contain important new features that could make it compatible on Mac.
The office for patents and trademarks in the United States has today given Apple a patent for a “Pen with sensors of inertia”, which could coincide with an enhanced version of Apple's Pencil that could potentially be compatible with the Magic Trackpad, probably in a new version in the future. The patent has the original in November 2014, but was only recently released in May 2016.
The patent mentions in a vague way a pen with a trackpad where the signal is sent to the iMac with a compatible program, this could allow artists and architects to make changes directly on the trackpad instead of using a graphic tablet, as is the case on the iPad Pro. From the patent in addition, the pen seems to have the features of gestures in the air, and then may be integrated with a motion sensor is also useful to be able to also move objects in 3D.
