The major exhibition dedicated to Joan Mirò in Naples: a unique event
For the first time in Naples is presented the major exhibition dedicated to Joan Mirò. At the PAN, Palazzo delle Arti Napoli, in via dei Mille 60, will be celebrated in the fantastic world of the famous Spanish painter. Specifically, the exhibition, titled Joan Miró. The language of signs, it will be open to the public from September 25, 2019 February 23, 2020. Organized by the Serralves Foundation of Porto with C. O. R. Create Organize Realize, is the most important cultural event of the autumn season in Naples.
The major exhibition dedicated to Joan Mirò in Naples, edited by Robert Lubar Messeri, associate professor of art history at the Institute of Fine Arts of New York University and under the guidance of Francesca Villanti, scientific director of the C. O. R.. the Whole path is made of eighty works, including sculptures, paintings, and drawings. All of the works are from the collection owned by the Portuguese State in deposit at the Serralves Foundation in Porto. The exhibition will be inaugurated on the 24th of September with the presence of the Minister of Portuguese Culture, Graça Fonseca, the Mayor of Naples, Luigi de Magistris, and the Councillor for Culture and Tourism of Naples, Nino Daniele. The event resumes, precisely, the artistic production of the painter Miró, created from 1927 to 1986.
The path tells the whole evolution of the style of the well-known Spanish artist. It is a memorable exploration of materiality, which offers the public the opportunity to retrace the artistic journey of Miró's. Visitors will be faced with the key moments of the path of this extraordinary artist, that presents all of its changes. By the year 2014 the Portuguese government has decided to prevent sales of the collection, in order to preserve the heritage of inestimable value for all the Portuguese. Later, or between October 2016 and June 2017, the works were presented for the first time inside the Museum Serralves in Porto, through an exhibition that has been visited by more than 300 thousand people. And, behold, now, the exhibition dedicated to Joan Miró arrives in the city of Naples. The public will have the opportunity to admire an extraordinary collection.
