“Nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed,” said Lavoisier. And yet in The Lego Movie 2 – A new adventure is amazing how many topoi authors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are fun to destroy and rebuild to tell their new story.

The sequel, set five years after the events of the first Lego Movie, fits into the classic future, post-apocalyptic in this case caused by the invasion of the Duplo – the other historic bricks of our childhood – here are the sister of the protagonist human.

The Lego Movie 2 so, instead of betting on a plot twist finale that gave a sense of much more “adult” to the children's story as did the first film, he embraces this awareness and play continuously on two narrative planes different. “Real” with the people of flesh and bones, and bricks that give the film.

If the young Finn has to face the “invasion” of his sister in his Kingdom of the Games, the opposing party games led by Emmet must deal with the mysterious Princess Wello Ke-Wuoglio. Emmet is the only one to continue to live life with a smile and optimism, and to see a future with Lucy, who, however, seems unsatisfied naïve companion, although he became a Master Builder well-most skillful of the other, was revealed the Special and had saved the world with a capital L, and also a little that of humans, at the end of the first film.

The mysterious Wello Ke-Wuoglio kidnaps Lucy, Batman, the General Simplicity and the whole band, and Emmet puts their fearless search. Of course, during the trip she will learn far more than expected, but it will not be the only one. All the characters seem to pass the metal detector themselves in this sequel and to find a new version of themselves that perhaps in reality it was only the previous from another point of view, or maybe it was a totally new, or it was still hidden under the bricks of a version that is not true.

The new entry, among all the Rex Rischianto of Chris Pratt, who is to her career and success the film had with the Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, is one of two major for nothing Warner, confirms the ability of this saga of fish references pop up everywhere, even from the competition, to tease sagacemente the viewer.

The two narrative planes serve to channel the attention of the entire family present at the movies: children will follow with curiosity and apprehension mission Lego/Duplo in the hope that the Hero save everyone and everything, as a fairy-tale before going to sleep, while the older ones will be encouraged to see the continuous references to the real world, and especially with the tease of legends, habits, iconic characters as the same Batman, already largely undermined in The Lego Batman Movie.

It's all rebuilt in The Lego Movie 2 – A new adventure. Heroes that are not heroes, anti-heroes that turn villain, sure, tough that may have a soft heart, and vice versa. It is as if the Upside Down to take possession of every rule of narrative and screenplay to be continually reversed, and so are the characterizations of the characters-the type that often give us safety in the vision of a film. There is even a song that could surpass “And’ wonderful” to the extent “will remain in the head even after the credits. The other that “nothing is created and nothing is destroyed” here is more “nothing shall remain from the beginning to the end of the film.”
