“The iPhone X is dead”, the word of Mirabaud Securities
Apple will stop the production of the iPhone X, due to a lack of interest from consumers. To say it is the analyst Neil Campling Mirabaud Securities.
In a statement released to CNBC, Campling said that, according to the information collected in the last weeks, Apple is no longer buying chips for the production of the iPhone X, because the iPhone X is dead“. For the analyst, the major cause of this lack of interest is due to the price of 999$, that is considered too high by most people: “consumers are turning their backs to the smartphone expensive“.
With respect to these considerations, however, there are some real data that should be on the opposite side. During the last financial conference, Apple confirmed that the iPhone X has quickly become the best selling smartphone of the company. In addition, several studies have shown that this device has been the most sold in the month of December. Like every year, after the christmas period there is a decline in sales, and other data do not speak to a question in free-fall, unprecedented in the history of Apple. Among other things, the same iPhone X, alone, accounts for 35% of all the revenues of the smartphone market worldwide.
It is difficult to say now if Apple will continue to produce the iPhone X for the next year, mainly because in the autumn they will arrive three new models. If such a decision will be taken, probably the reason is not related only to a question so to the downside.
