The iPhone 11 Pro can replace a professional camcorder? [Video]

We have heard about the quality of the camera of the iPhone 11 Pro, and we have seen a comparison with a DSLR high-end and so on. Now, CNET is putting to the test the device with professional cameras and defying “the award-winning film-makers to shoot a film using only the iPhone 11 Pro“.

CNET has challenged Carfection, his trademark twin who speaks of the car, to produce a video entirely shot with the new Apple device:

This would not be a vlog fast and rough, mind you: Carfection has won numerous awards for his remarkable cinematic style, the incredible talent of videography and the high production value. I wanted to see how far the team could go up to the same standard using only the iPhone.

Carfection has accepted the challenge and headed to the New Forest National Park in England to shoot a video of the Ford Mustang Bullitt. The video was shot completely on an iPhone, using objective third-party of the Moment for some scenes, leggings of the stabilisation and slider.

As expected, in good conditions, the iPhone has worked very well, but struggle with the noise in low light conditions and not have the depth of field you would get with a traditional camera.

In the movie from machine to machine, for example; the dynamic range is incredible, considering that it comes from a camera phone. But as soon as we approached some of the details, the noise in the shadows of the processing has become more evident. Also don't get the same depth of field you can get with a large image sensor.

Carfection has also had issues with stability and usability with the app FiLMiC used for recording. More details here.

Rose praised the app's editing Filmic Pro on iOS:

In the complex is awesome. The fact that on an iPhone it is possible to change all shooting settings (ISO, white balance, shutter speed, manual focus) is amazing. I never expected to be able to do that kind of things on a phone. But it is complicated to use.

Rose says the experience overall has been “impressive” and that the configuration of a triple camera iPhone 11 Pro offers a lot of versatility.
