The iOS Developer Academy Apple will open in October in Naples

After months of hypothesis and rumors, is now arrived the officiality. The collaboration between Apple and the University of Naples Federico II will take off in October, with the iOS Developer Academy.

There will be 200 students enrolled in the first year and many more in subsequent years. The plan is that by the second year, then the available places will be a 400, as soon as they are available all the infrastructure that the University of Naples Federico II is preparing.

Students will participate in a program of nine months on a curriculum designed with Apple within the new Campus of San Giovanni a Teduccio. At the new location will be available in laboratories with high technology as well as the most recent Apple software and hardware.

 

The partnership with Apple will allow hundreds of students to have access to the skills, practical training on the development of the App in a technology ecosystem extremely vital and rich. In this way, you will confirm the centuries-old tradition of excellence in teaching and research of the first state University in the world, founded in 1224.

During the first semester, the courses will have the objective to improve and elevate the skills of students in developing software for iOS; during the second semester students will participate in courses on the creation of start-up and design of the app, and will collaborate in the creation of apps that could eventually arrive to the App Store.

The program will be open to students coming from Italy and from all over Europe, with scholarships available for those who may be in need of financial support. They will also be made available places in the university residences of the University Frederick ii.

Candidates will be asked to do a test online in Italian or in English, after which they can proceed to the next step, which involves an interview. Candidates need not necessarily have a training in information technology as the course has been designed to support a heterogeneous mix of future developers that spans several sectors. The procedure of registration will be made available in a couple of weeks.

The University of Naples Federico II are also planning to hire teachers for the Academy in the coming months: the experienced developer of the app, designers and teachers of programming.

Naples, July 7, 2016, The University of Naples Federico II (Naples, Italy) announced today that it will host the first iOS Developer Academy in Europe, thanks to a new partnership with Apple that will provide hundreds of students the practical skills and training on the development of the app for the digital ecosystem and more innovative and vibrant in the world.

The iOS Developer Academy will officially open in October 2016, with more than 200 students to participate in the first year and many more to follow in subsequent years. Students will participate in a nine-month course, designed and supported by Apple, with a dedicated structure at the new campus in San Giovanni a Teduccio. The property includes workshops and access to the most recent Apple hardware and software.

The plan to create a iOS Developer Academy specializing in Naples, Italy, has been announced for the first time in January by Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, and the Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, to increase significantly the number of app developers prepared in Italy and Europe.

Developers in Europe have been paid almost €10 billion for the sale of their apps in the world. The iOS Developer Academy will help students to have a role in this revolution.

The program is free of charge and will be open to students coming from Italy and from all over Europe, with scholarships available to some students to cover the primary expenditure.
