The Flash, Riverdale, and Supergirl will have a different ending from what you expected
Because of the Covid-19 series, The CW have had to stop production, and then the episodes filmed are lower than expected, with obvious repercussions on the plots.
The Flash is back this week with its first new episode in over a month because of the epidemic of the coronavirus that has interrupted production of the series of The CW.
Because of this, fans have wondered if the rest of the sixth season of the show will continue as planned and as it will be the end of the season. Now, the star of the series, Grant Gustin confirms that the season will be a bit shorter, given that the nineteenth episode will be his final.
In an interview with TV Line, Gustin revealed that the “big cliffhanger with Thawne” initially planned for the original release of the season will not happen. Instead, the season will end with the episode 6×19, “Success is Assured”, and will have a cliffhanger of his own.
“There would have been a great cliffhanger with Thawne at the end of this season, but it will not be the cliffhanger that we will have,” said Gustin. “[Episode] 6×19,” Success is Assured”, it will eventually be our end, then we will have a cliffhanger that is different from the one originally planned. But the cliffhanger at the end of episode 6×19 will be a final rather good”.
Flash has discontinued production of its sixth season on march 13. At the time it was reported that the series had already filmed several episodes, but it was not clear how many. The comments of Gustin now clarify that the end of the new season will be aired on the 12th of may, with Stargirl that will take the place of The Flash on the 19th of may.
As to what he said Gustin, this may be related to the relationship between Barry and Iris. In the last few episodes of The Flash, the Iris (Candice Patton), with whom Barry has interacted is actually the Mirror-Iris, while, unbeknownst to her, his real wife is trapped in a world of mirror. Fans have already seen a certain tension in the pair and the showrunner Eric Wallace had previously said to TV Line that things become pretty bad for the golden couple of the Arrowverse.
The series returns on April 21 with “So Long and Goodnight”.
Given that the fourth season of Riverdale approaches the characters at the end of their senior year, the drama based on the characters from Archie Comics could prepare viewers to jump forward in time. The last four years have caught Archie Andrews and his friends in a mystery after the other.
Starting from the tragic death of Jason Blossom in then, season 4 was a roller coaster exciting series for teens. And after the death of the actor Luke Perry (Fred Andrews), the last year for Riverdale has pushed many of the characters to grow in a meaningful way.
Given that season 4 was not completed because of the pandemic of coronavirus, the nineteenth episode entitled “Chapter Seventy-Six: Killing Mr. Honey” will serve as the season finale. It is not yet clear what will happen with the three episodes are not products of the season 4 because Riverdale has already been renewed for season 5. Given that productions have not yet been reprogrammed for the different series, fans may have to wait longer than expected for the return of Riverdale.
Despite the lack of details on season 5, some of the rumor might suggest that Riverdale is not only ending the cycle at the high school of the characters, but maybe it will make a big leap in time. TVLine reported that the producers of “a series established” are considering the possibility of making a huge change in the temporal sequence” in its final season. From the moment that Riverdale will enter its fifth season this fall, at this point, it qualifies easily as a show, “said”.
In the first three seasons of Riverdale, teenagers were not the only target of the plot: the parents have had their space, as Hiram Lodge. However, when Perry died last year, was followed by the death of Fred in the premiere of the fourth season, and Riverdale has slowly changed her attention toward the adults.
And now, with some of the guys headed to college, emerged the question about the involvement of the parents in the series. While the plot of season 5 is a secret, two significant changes have already been confirmed. The season 4 will be the last year with F. P. Jones, and Hermione Lodge as usual characters of the series with Skeet Ulrich and Marisol Nichols in the official start to Riverdale before the season 5. And this supports the theory of the potential jump in time to Riverdale.
If the current season will end with the death of Hiram, even Hermione could leave the city. And all of this could lead to a further reshaping of the space of the parents in favor of living outside of the city of guys: confirming a jump in time.
The final of the season 5 of Supergirl is going to be rewritten after the lockdown of the show because of the coronavirus, according to the star Jon Cryer.
Cryer is joined on the show The CW in season 4 such as Lex Luthor, the iconic criminal brother of Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath). Initially, Cryer would only appear in a few episodes of Supergirl, but her presence in the show has grown. The end of Crisis has seen the creation of a new Earth in which Lex is in some way a beloved philanthropist, much to the surprise of Supergirl herself, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist).
Season 5 of Supergirl was blocked for the Coronavirus. Because of these problems, all the shows of the Arrowverse have shortened seasons because they had all the episodes are incomplete.
About Supergirl, only the final had not been completed before the shutdown. For this reason, the authors of the show have taken the opportunity to rewrite the script. During an interview with PeopleTV, Cryer explained that even if they had shot some things for the final, which will be still used “are writing a lot of new things around it”.
Cryer continued, “which is interesting, because the way in which my character has been beaten now no longer happens. Then I thought, ‘Oh, I have not been defeated? Wait a minute, I like it!'”, slight spoilers for Supergirl, even though this may give fans an idea of where it will lead us to the new final.
Perhaps the writers were not really satisfied with the original ending, and the forced shutdown has given them time to adequately reflect on what they want to do. In this case, perhaps the stop was actually positive for Supergirl.
Season 5 of Supergirl will resume on may 3 with “Deus Lex Machina” on The CW.
