The trailer of the Slender Man, the horror movie signed by Sylvain White (The Losers), it is online less than 24 hours but are already provoking strong negative reactions among the public, as well as some controversy.

Born as a monster conceived by canadian actor Eric Knudsen for a photo contest in 2009, Slender Man is a monster in the likeness of a tall man, over 2 meters, in a black suit and tie, long arms to below the knees, hands with claws and a face totally white. In time, the character became the subject of many stories creepypasta and has become the protagonist of the meme, video games and a documentary made by HBO focusing on a brutal murder that took place in 2014, in Wisconsin (USA). Here two girls, at that time in their twenties, killed classmate blow 19 times, then giving the fault to the Slender Man.

And it is precisely the father of the two girls, Bill Weier, who raised the first controversy on the film:

It's crazy that they have made a film of this genre. Are by making, and making popular a real tragedy. I'm not surprised, but, in my opinion, this is absolutely reprehensible. They are not doing anything to cause further pain to the families involved in the story.

This, although it is not entirely clear that the plot of the film, which seems to be still focused on a few teenagers who find themselves haunted by the monster in question.

In the meantime, the internet reactions to the first trailer have been far from positive, with many users that have complained about the poor quality of a trailer in general. Many have had the impression of being in front of a product rough and amateur, created using a copy paste of the videos found on the web. Others, however, that has been launched to “too late”, when now they are 4 or 5 years that the Slender Man is no longer news.

In the cast of the film, expected in theaters next may 18, we will find Jaz Sinclair, Joey King, Julia Goldani Telles, Annalise Basso, Alex Fitzalan and Kevin Chapman.
