A new report of IDC shows that in all over the world have been installed 156 billion applications in 2015, which generated 34.2 billion us dollars of direct revenues, excluding advertising. The number of apps will grow in 2016, reaching more than 210 billion installations for 57 billion of direct revenues by 2020.

The app market does not seem to know the crisis, even if talking about money a large part of the proceeds are in the hands of Apple, which represents 58% of all the direct revenues of the year 2015, an increase of 35% compared to 2014. This figure is even more striking if we consider the fact that the volume of the installation of the applications on the App Store represents only 15% of the entire market, with a decline of 8% compared to 2014. Speaking of quantity, in fact, is Android the undisputed leader, grace, and the most number of smartphones in circulation.

For the IDC, the gap in terms of direct revenues will continue to climb in favor of Apple in the next few years.
