The Big Bang Theory, & Young, Sheldon: new details on the crossover
Although Young Sheldon is set about thirty years before The Big Bang Theory and is one of its spin-off, between the two series there will be this winter a crossover, as announced by CBS. Iain Armitage, the actor who plays the role of the young Sheldon, as well as Lance Barber (George, the father of Sheldon) and Montana Jordan (the big brother Georgie) take therefore part in one of the episodes of December The Big Bang Theory.
In view of the obvious temporal distance between the two series, it is almost certain that all the actors appear thanks to a sort of flashback scene in the episode, where the mode may be revealed by the first synopsis of the episode, which reads: “Sheldon and Amy are still down after their theory is disproved, but a VHS cassette with memories of the past, Sheldon encourages him not to give up”. The family of Sheldon, therefore, it should appear in the memories recorded. As reported by TV Line, then, in the episode will also be present Christine Baranski in the role of Beverly, the mother of Leonard, although it is not clear how to include in the plot.
Of the crossover if it was talked already in April, when the co-creator of Young Sheldon Steve Molaro told Deadline that “there is no reason why we can not do a crossover between the two series, going back and forth in time in this weird time portal created by the two shows”.
The episode crossover, titled “The VCR illumination,” airs on CBS on December 6th.
