The Alienist: TNT orders a miniseries sequel

At the end of The Alienist will have a sequel, but not in the way many had thought. TNT has ordered a new miniseries that will serve as the preceding, with the same cast.

Titled The Angel of Darkness, and based on the sequel book of Caleb Carr, see him again in the cast Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning. A small great success of critics and public, the series is available on Netflix and has received six Emmy nominations, including Best Limited Series. The show will remain in the category even after the “renewal”.

In The Alienist, Luke Evans is the illustrator, John Moore, while Dakota Fanning plays Sara Howard, an ambitious secretary determined to become the first woman detective of the city. Also starring Brian Geraghty (The Hurt Locker) in the role of police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt, Douglas Smith (Miss Sloane), and Matthew Shear (Mistress America), respectively, in the roles of Marcus and Lucius Isaacson, two twin brothers whose support is crucial to unravel the disturbing mystery; Matt Lintz (Pixels) plays Stevie, a young boy, very determined, taken by Dr. Kreizler as a driver and deliveryman. Robert Ray Wisdom (The Wire) played the role of Cyrus, the servant of Kreizler, a man with a dark past turned by the same Kreizler; and finally, Q orianka Kilcher (The New World) plays Mary, the maid wetsuit Kreizler with whom it maintains a special connection is non-verbal.

“We could not be more proud of The Alienist, as the actors and crew have given life to that period of history,” said Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT, “our audience has fallen in love with these characters, of these situations and their travel times complicated. With this new story in the Suspense Collection by TNT, we will immerse you even more viewers against a new enemy.”

The Angel of Darkness was co-produced by Paramount Television and Turner s Study T Eric Roth, Anonymous Content's Steve Golin and Rosalie Swedlin and Cary Joji Fukunaga as executive producers.
