We suffered a premise: the japanese animation has a multitude of battles that deserve to be on this list. However, here I decided to reward especially those where you demonstrated a certain war strategy.

That said, there are two battles from Star Blazers/Battleship Space Yamato, and one each from the universes of Neon Genesis Evangelion, Code Geass and Gundam. If you want to, write in the comments the battle that you think should absolutely be in this list!

The Battleship Space Yamato is a television series anime, sci-fi starring the eponymous spaceship. The series was a milestone in the history of japanese animation, opening the field to later works such as Mobile Suit Gundam and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Uchu senkan Yamato was the first anime to win the prestigious award, Seiun in the category of best media in 1975.

The opening theme, Uchu Senkan Yamato, song by Isao Sasaki, is one of the most famous songs of the animation in japan, also for the various versions that he has had in years.

After a few dozen days from start and you have tried the supercannone on Mars, the Yamato arrives at Pluto (at that time was still the ninth planet of the solar system), where is the basis of Garmillas. But before that the land to identify the exact location of the base, the same is shot with the cannon to the reflected waves, which seriously damage the ship. Unable to defend themselves, because the cannon uses satellites mirror to deflect the beam and hit suddenly, the land rush with their ship in the ocean of Pluto. Here they are attacked by the submarines, while Susumu Kodai and the others set off in search of the base to disable the cannon. This team, once the entry into the enemy base, identified thanks to the tactics of the Yamato, sets out to use the terrible weapon.

This will be followed by an attack almost suicidal for the commander garmillassiano, which is not allowed to return to the home planet without a victory. In the Star Blazers 2199 is given prominence to a further data, as these garmilassiani are citizens of series B not having the blue skin.

Star Blazers 2199 and its sequels are available by Dynit on VVVVID.
