Stargirl: the trailer for the new DC series
The first trailer of Stargirl announces the arrival of the next great superhero for the small screen by DC Comics. Brec Bassinger (Bella and the Bulldogs on Nickelodeon) will be the protagonist when Stargirl will debut next year, but the young actress will also have a first chance to shine with an appearance in the event, the crossover Crisis on infinite Earths, which is already well underway on the CW (and that is none other than the great confluence of costume heroes in the 67 year history of the live-action television).
The television series, Stargirl, the series will come in the second quarter of 2020 and will be produced by Berlanti Prodcutions, the label belonging to Warner Bros., which specialises in products for the television, under the banner of the DC Universe, the project of the digital subscription that was in progress before the announcement of HBO's Max, the next streaming service WarnerMedia.
Stargirl will be the first series of DC Universe original broadcast on television.
The series follows the events of the second year of the high school of Courtney Whitmore, a girl who manages to inspire an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the bad guys from the past. This new drama reinvents the characters of DC Comics Stargirl and the original team of superheroes, the Justice Society of America in a new way, in a series of unpredictable which will also address issues generational as adventurous.
The first challenge of Stargirl is to establish an individual identity in the already saturated landscape of superhero television. For fans of Marvel, Stargirl reminds us how Captain Marvel and dresses up as Captain America, while a neophyte of the genre might confuse it with Starfire (from the series "Titans of the DC Universe) or Starlight (from" The Boys of Amazon).
All of this is adding a new set Disney's + always called Stargirl, but that speaks to a teenager who shines as a singer.
However, the trailer suggests that Stargirl will not have problems to carve out their own space in the contemporary pop culture. Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns, Sarah Schechter and Melissa Carter are the executive producers of Stargirl, which is based on the character DC created by the Johns.
The series is produced by Berlanti Productions and Mad Ghost Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Johns is writing the first episode and will be the showrunner of the series. At the moment, has not been announced, no official release date for Stargirl.
