Star Trek: IDW announces crossover, The Q Conflict
IDW Publishing has announced Star Trek: The Q Conflict, a new era of Star Trek in six parts, which will begin in January of next year. The series was written by Scott Tipton and David Tipton (Star Trek: The Next Generation – Mirror Broken) with art by David Messina (Star Trek: Countdown).
Here is the synopsis of the crossover, provided by IDW Publishing, in a press release:
“When a dispute between divine beings is a threat to the galaxy, it will take all of the best captains starfleet to stop them. James T. Kirk, Jean-Luc Picard, Kathryn Janeway, and Benjamin Sisko must compete in a competition that is rigged by the arrogant Q and his fellow all-powerful. ”
“This is the greatest Star Trek series ever, which runs through the spaceship, centuries and galaxies!”, said Scott Tipton in a note. “All the more legendary starfleet officers come together for the first time against some of the greatest threats they have ever faced. You have not seen anything like that before!”
David Tipton added, “But it would not be Star Trek if it were not for the characters, and, with so many legends of the Star Fleet that you meet for the first time, The Q Conflict will give the readers the opportunity to see all their favorite characters in a new light brand.”
“To be working on Star Trek: The Q Conflict is like coming home after a mission duration of five years,” says David Messina, “Draw the characters as Spock, and Picard in an exciting time for the franchise of Star Trek? This is wonderful.”
The crew of Star Trek: Enterprise apparently has not been invited to the party crossover, as well as Star Trek: Discovery.
January is shaping up as a big month for the comics of Star Trek, and given that IDW had previously announced Star Trek: IDW 20/20, a new one-shot that will tell a story of the captain Jean-Luc Picard 20 years before Star Trek: The Next Generation, when he was still in command of the USS Stargazer.
Star Trek: The Q Conflict #1 will be on sale in the month of January 2019. The series will be characterized by more cover, those of David Messina, George Caltsoudas and J. K. Woodward.
