Spawn: Todd McFarlane's already talk of the sequel to the reboot – NYCC 2017
The new film of "Spawn" will be produced by Blumhouse Productions (Paranormal Activity, Split, run away – Get Out). Todd McFarlane, creator of the character, wrote the screenplay and will direct the film. It will be a horror forbidden to minors.
Interviewed by ComicBook.com, McFarlane explained: “I Want to be a film small because, if you have a budget of $ 3 million and grossing 25, then it is a success, rather than investing 300 million.”
“I believe that the budget will be between 10 and 12 million dollars. If, during the weekend opening, we will make the same numbers on the film twenty years ago, that would now be $ 40 million, then we could do the sequel and start a franchise.”
“When I made my first film, I said that we could take two directions. I don't want to do three or four films based on different ideas but, basically, all the same. I like the first Beverly Hills Cop. I also enjoyed the second. But the third had already become repetitive.”
Kevin Smith will make the tv series spin-off Sam & Twitch for BBC America.
