Spawn: the film will not have anything to do with the superhero movie

Published on Jan 07, 2018

Announced at the last SDCC, the film adaptation of "Spawn", produced by Blumhouse Productions (Paranormal Activity, Split, run away – Get Out), it will be something completely different from cinecomic to which we were accustomed in these years.

Interviewed by AZ Central, Todd McFarlane has revealed new details on the film will have a tone that is dark and will be forbidden to minors.

Here are his words:

We have just ended the script and in this moment we are deciding the budget. We are also holding meetings for the casting. It will be a film by the gloomy, serious, and forbidden to minors. It will not be a superhero movie. I don't think that the majority of the public would classify as well. We are talking about a supernatural thriller like many other scary movies. The only element of the fanciful in the film will Spawn while the rest will be very normal.

McFarlane, remember that it will also be the director of the film, he added that the main character will Spawn, but a policeman “as the sheriff Brody and The Shark“.
