Sony Glass Sound Speaker LSPX-S2, the speaker is the Hi-Res that looks like a candle
Sony has presented the Glass Sound Speaker LSPX-S2 at CES 2019. The new model is the improved version of the model LSPX-S1 launched in 2016. The speaker/candle has a diameter of approximately 90 mm and a height of 277 mm, the weight came in at 1.1 kilograms. The base is made with a satin finish, while the upper part is organic glass.
The sound is spread to 360° and is thus omni-directional. For high frequencies, there are three actuators that vibrate the glass and turn it into a tweeter. Then there are a woofer and 35 mm, and a passive radiator placed in the lower side. The output power is 11 W.
The Glass Sound Speaker integrates a light and adjustable to one of 32 levels: the mode "candle light" mimics the warm light from a candle, and there are also other modes such as "vivid" or "dedicated". The speaker is equipped with a micro-USB port, an audio input on a 3.5 mm jack, Bluetooth, NFC and Wi-Fi. In Bluetooth is supported by the technology LDAC, that can guarantee a stream up to 990 kbps, and sampling frequencies up to 96 kHz/24-bit.
