Snapchat has the Spectacles, the sunglasses to record the video by 10 seconds!
Snapchat has announced its first hardware product, sun glasses called Spectacles that can record video of 10 seconds, reports the Wall Street Journal. The accessories will cost $130 and can be purchased short in three colors: teal, black and coral. The recorded video will sync with the mobile devices with which they were paired.
To record a video you simply press a button on the side of the eyewear, for each ‘tap’ is registered for a video of 10 seconds with the lens at an angle of 115°. The lenses were developed to be more extensive than those mounted on smartphones, to ensure, in short, a result that is more similar to human vision. The videos are recorded in a circular format.
Snapchat has worked to Spectacles for years, and CEO Evan Spiegel has confirmed to have them tested personally all this time. He told the WSJ that one of the advantages of these new accessories is that they should not be keeping a smartphone to record a video, which is “like a wall”. Watch the video recorded this way is like reliving a memory, " says Spiegel.
Spiegel defines the Spectacles as “toys”, for example, a concert or a barbecue between friends. The company has planned an initial limited distribution of the product, a bit like done by Google for its Glass. This is an accessory which will make the ‘snapchatters’ less dependent on their smartphones, at least under this point of view.
