Shazam 2 and Black Adam will be shot in the same period
The filming of Shazam 2 should start this summer, more or less in the same period in which the film is Black Adam Dwayne Johnson will go into production.
Released in April 2019, the original Shazam has presented Asher Angel as Billy Batson, a boy of 14 years who transforms into the superhero of the title. Praised by critics for its humor and for having dealt with deeper issues such as the family and the emotional trauma, the Shazam, was a great success at the box office and now has a sequel in the pipeline, that we'll see in April 2022.
For years, the plan envisages that the "Black Adam" Johnson appeared in the first film of Shazam. However, things have changed, and the character got a film of his own, which will debut in December 2021.
It is assumed that the film of Black Adam is going to evolve the character DC turning it into more of an antihero then get together with Shazam, maybe in the Shazam 3.
According to GWW, Shazam 2 is preparing to start shooting in July, the same month that Black Adam will begin to turn (as announced by Johnson last fall). Given that the films will be released in less than three and a half months away, there will certainly be some overlap in their production schedules, even if Shazam 2 will begin filming a little later than expected.
