Samsung presents the new Galaxy S9 Galaxy S9 Plus! – MWC 18
The most awaited event of the Mobile World Congress in 2018 was concluded by a few minutes: Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy S9 Galaxy S9 Plus, two terminals with which the south Korean company will challenge the iPhone X (for now).
At the aesthetic level, the two terminals are very similar to the model S8. This panel also Infinity Display with frames and thin resolution Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display. In addition, the new Samsung smartphone is now supporting the expansion of internal memory with micro-sd card also 400 GB.
The new Galaxy S9 screen (5.8-inch) and S9 Plus (display 6.2 inch) mountain cameras refurbished with sensor Super Speed Dual Pixels of processing power and memory dedicated, able to combine up to 12 frames in a single shot. Thanks to this camera you can make video in Super slow-motion video at 960 fps. Among other things, thanks to the automatic detection of the movement, the camera detects the movement and starts recording automatically. The new app dedicated to the camera you can then edit the video (with background audio) and insert an animated GIF.
Very interesting to the lens double opening focal (F1.5 – F2.4), which does not automatically pass more light when the environment is dark and less light when it is too bright.
As anticipated by several rumor, Samsung takes a cue from the Animoji of the iPhone X and features the new “My Emoji”. My Emoji allows you to create an avatar-like appearance, sounds and behaviors similar to those of users, taking advantage of a learning algorithm that automatically analyzes a 2D image of the user, and map over 100 facial features to create a 3D model that reflects and mimics her expressions. The animations can be exported in the video or in the format AGIF, so it can be shared in all the main messaging app.
The new Samsung smartphone include a Bixby improved to allow the user to take full advantage of the virtual assistant. For example, with the detection and recognition of objects in real time, the virtual assistant instantly generates information directly in the upper part of the image that the camera is framing. Thanks to this function, you can, for example, translate foreign languages, convert currencies in real time with Translation Live, get information about the surroundings, purchase products seen in the real world and monitor the calories of the food. This is very interesting, is not present at the time on Siri (Apple on this point must get a move on...).
Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus integrated speaker the most powerful produced in collaboration with AKG, and with technology support Dolby Atmos.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are the first smartphones to support the app SmartThings, so as to transform them into a hub for the management of accessories both in home and in the office. Thanks to DeX is also possible to connect the smartphone to a screen of larger dimensions (with DeX Pad users can also transform the Galaxy S9 and S9+ on a keyboard touche, a touch pad).
With regards to security, Samsung has tried to improve the detection of the iris and the face(with the S8 could also be enough photo of the user...) with Knox 3.1. The two devices offer different authentication options biometrics (iris recognition, fingerprints and face), to choose the best method to protect the device and the applications.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be available starting from march 16, 2018, in the colors Midnight Black, Coral Blue and the new shades of Lilac Purple for a suggested retail price of €899 and €999.
