Samsung and LG lead the market of TV over 70", follow the chinese brands
Samsung and LG lead TV sales over 70". That lists all the numbers is the IHS, Markit, specialized in this type of analysis. The two airlines, Korean have sold 499.700 televisions (approximately 287.000 for Samsung and 212.000 LG) of a large size in the first quarter of 2019, equal to 57,9% of the total. The growth recorded in recent years has been significant. In 2017, it was Japan to lead this segment, sales were attested to 857.200 with a share equal to 42.3%. Samsung and LG had stopped 826.700 and held 40.8%.
Overtaking is occurred in 2018: the koreans have overthrown Japan and strong of 3,210.800 units sold. The producers of the rising sun have seen the lowering of the sales up to 737.300 units (22.9% of the total). The prospects for the brands the japanese remain negative: the competition of korea is to be added, that the chinese, on the strength of 151.700 TV (17,5% of the total, up 8.4% on an annual basis) over 70" placed in the first quarter of 2019. The japanese have instead sold 135,000 units and have seen their market share reduced to 15.6%.
The forecast of IHS, Markit portray an expanding market in 2019: the sales of the models over the 70" will grow up to 4.722.500 unit and will increase up to double in the course of 2023, when it will be 8.533.800 televisions, extra-large placed in the homes of the users. Regarding the individual brands, are reported the results obtained from TCL, Sony and Panasonic. The chinese TCL has sold 46.300 units in the first quarter of 2019, resulting in a increase very significantly compared to the 10.200 units in 2018. Also Sony has grown, albeit far less (+13,4%), sales amounted to 72.200 unit. Panasonic is rather stable with 1.900 TV sold.The top of the range smaller and pontente on the market?
