Sabrina, vita da strega: there will be a crossover with Riverdale
Mark Pedowitz, the head of the issuer of the CW, spoke to Archie's Digest: To Riverdale Podcast and he has said that Netflix has no plan for a crossover between The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Riverdale. Pedowitz hopes that there is the possibility in the future but, for now, Netflix wants the new tv series Sabrina is a stand alone.
Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) will star in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the tv horror series about the origins of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, spin-off of Riverdale.
Netflix has already ordered twenty episodes for a total of two seasons.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, showrunner of Riverdale, head of the creative office of the Archie Comics and the creator of the comic book Sabrina – The Teenage Witch, will be the executive producer and the writer of the series. Lee Toland Krieger will direct the pilot. The series will be produced by Greg Berlanti and Sarah Shecter, already executive producer of Riverdale.
From the comic has already been is a sit-com success with Melissa Joan Hart aired for 7 seasons from 1996 to 2003.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina reimmagina the origins of Sabrina, who will need to reconcile his dual nature, half witch and half mortal, as he confronts the forces of evil that threaten his family. The series will have a tone similar to Rosemary's Baby and The exorcist.
It has also been produced an animated series that aired between 2013 and 2014.
