Rumiko Takahashi won the Grand Prix of the Angoulême 2019
The Takahashi is the third woman to win the award and what happens to the american Richard Corben.
The consecration of Rumiko Takahashi, winner of the Grand Prix of the 46th Festival of Angoul├¬me, to enter the history of the event of this festival: the third woman to receive the title, after Florence Cestac (2000) and Claire Br├ęt├ęcher (1983, ex-aequo with Jean-Claude Forest), the japanese confirmed the importance of manga in the French town.
The genus, widely promoted by the Festival's artistic director St├ęphane Barani does not have to prove its legitimacy in the Ninth Art, given that this year will have a new space of 2500 square metres, called Manga City. The links between the Festival and the manga are still more narrow, after the awards Toriyama and Otomo, respectively in 2013 and 2015.
Rumiko Taskahashi, whose works in Italy are published by Edizioni Star Comics, is also known in our Country for such works as Lam├╣, InuYasha, Ranma 1/2 and Maison Ikkoku.
