Ranking USA Comics June 2018: Justice League and the Metal and increase the Marvel
Halfway point for the year 2018, at least as far as the sales data of the U.S. market to allow us even to make a first budget on a year to say the least, provisional.
After two months of more positive, June recorded a new downturn in the market, with the percentage really is not reassuring: -11.14% for the stapled and -2.15% for the volumes.
Decreases the gap between Marvel and DC with the first ever firm to the command, respectively, with 38.42% for dollars earned and 40.98% for comics sold against 30.54% and 33.73%. While the Image is anchored to the third place (10.46% and 11.48%) in the lower steps there are two changes that are unusual: Dark Horse over IDW in fourth place and Dynamite over Boom! Studios on the sixth.
Even with this evident decline, the analysts confirm that June is the third month in the “solid” from the commercial point of view, and this portends that the second half of the year will flip the first half disastrous, especially if you relate to the percentages of the winter months. The whole is supported by some interesting annual statistics which confirm the decrease of approximately 6.5% of sales compared to 2017 and how the preferred size is now the volume purchased primarily in a specialized store:
Top 10 comicbooks: is DC comics best-selling and the one that has the most to gain, to June 2018. It is, as expected, Justice League #1 – priced 3.99 $ – which sells a little over 200,000 copies around. But the Top 10 is the prerogative of the Marvel square in a 5-titles – excellent debut titled Fresh Start of Iron Man, Deadpool, and Thor – and a surprise in the second position there is The Magic Order #1 of Mark Millar and Olivier Coipel, helped by the return of the total unsold stock and a 10% discount on orders.
Top 10 graphic novels & tradepaperbacks: a total prerogative of the DC, however, is the ranking of the volumes by placing 6 volumes in the top ten positions, among which the volume sold, and the one that has the most to gain, that is, Dark Nights: Metal Deluxe Edition HC, priced 29.99$. Marvel has to be satisfied of two positions by yielding to the Image of the sixth, with Southern Bastards Vol. 4 – Gut Check, and the Dark Horse in the seventh with Neil Gaiman A Study in Emerald HC.
