Qualcomm unveils the first LTE modem to 2 gbps
The new LTE modem capable of reaching download speeds of up to 2 gbps it's called Snapdragon X24. Will be present at the MWC 2018.
This new modem from Qualcomm, which will be shown in a few days in Barcelona, it is produced with the production process to 7 nanometers, and reaches speeds of up to 2 gbps.
It is a modem category 20, which may open new scenarios in the mobile area, with connections getting faster, waiting for the standard 5G.
For those who are not able to frame the potential of the new modem, it will surely be useful to remember that this new X24 doubles the performance compared to the modem Gigabit first generation of Qualcomm, which is clearly in the ideal conditions.
This product supports up to 7 streams in carrier aggregation and supports 4X4 MIMO on a maximum of 5 streams. Also supported the standard FD-MIMO that will be useful in the management and development of future networks, 5G.
