Paper Girls: Amazon will adjust the Image series
Deadline reports that Amazon Studios has reached an agreement to adapt the comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang, the Paper Girls, a TV series, a live-action.
Stephany Folsom, co-screenwriter of Toy Story 4, will be the showrunner and screenwriter main Paper Girls. The series is produced by Plan B and the Legendary TV, which has recently entered into a commercial agreement with the same Vaughan.
Vaughan and Chiang have started the comic in 2016, collecting critical acclaim. Paper Girls follows the story of four teenage girls: Erin, MacKenzie, KJ, and Tiffany. While delivering newspapers in 1988, the girls find themselves in the midst of a war between factions that travel in time. Along the storyline, the girls also discover what they have in store for their future. The series will conclude at the end of the month with Paper Girls #30.
Vaughan is best known for series like Marvel's Runaways and Y: The Last Man for Vertigo. Runaways is currently a series on Hulu, while FX continues with his adaptation of Y. Vaughan has also been a writer of Lost, and will be an executive producer of the new series Paper Girls, which, however, does not yet have a date for the beginning of production.
