One-Punch Man Season 2: talk to the director of the first season
One-Punch Man, the manga series, the success of ONE and Yusuke Murata, a large part of its success to the first season of the animated (awesome and beloved by fans) produced by Madhouse Studios and directed by Shingo Natsume.
The first series, although consisting of 12 episodes, was praised for the great work from the animation studio in terms of set design and in terms of moving images. There was now trusting blindly of the studio Madhouse, when something is changed suddenly: the second season has had more of his dad and was given another.
The second season, in fact, as we know, is passed on to J. C. Staff and directed by Chikara Sakurai and, although the fun and the enjoyment generated by definition from the original series did not change, the quality compared to the first series is visibly lowered, with the annexed disappointment from fans.
Shingo Natsume, the director of the first series, gave an interview in the course of the Anime Fest and this time the fans have asked him to talk about the second season of One-Punch Man. The director would have wanted to direct the new project, but it was not then possible.
Here are the words of the japanese filmmaker:
“Personally, I wanted to do the second season, but it has not been possible in spite of the good work the previous. I have not been able to do everything I wanted to do, but I would have wished that the studio J. C. Staff who worked on the second season could devote more effort“.
The words of admonition of the director Natsume towards the production of the second season, and you don't need a technician to understand it, is visibly less appealing than the first, with times of production, very long-lived, and a few episodes packaged. Natsume did not want to speak directly of the work of Chikara Sakurai, but it is clear that it is not impressed by the result of the initial and the final.
The first series is to be aired in 2015; the second in 2019. Both are visible in Italy, through the streaming platform of VVVVID (Dynit).
One-Punch Man is a manga written by One and drawn by Yusuke Murata in the magazine Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha). With 120 chapters published, the first 96 are collected into 20 volumes. In Italy, the manga is published by Planet Manga with 18 volumes published.
The manga inspired two animated series. The first was broadcast in 2015 in Japan for 12 episodes, and visible with Italian subtitles, legally and for free on VVVVID (Dynit), while the second is to be aired in 2019 always for 12 episodes total, and with the same mode of vision of the first. Currently the souls brings together 24 episodes.
In the course of 2020, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, will be released worldwide the first fighting game 3vs3 to meetings inspired by the series. The game of house Bandai Namco Entertainment is called One-Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows.
