: One Piece Eiichirō Oda reveals curiosity about Nami and Nico Robin
The love of Luffy Vinsmoke for the female gender is a constant unwavering of the long term manga series One Piece written and illustrated by the Master Eiichirō Oda. Luffy has a way to refer to women, it does so with respect and is never trivial, especially Nami and Nico Robin.
Unlike his companions, of the male gender, the cook of the pirates, Luffy is always motivation to show his kind share, and the fans have wanted to shed light on a small mystery.
In the course of the serialization, the japanese author has accustomed us to of the phrases typical of the character of Luffy in the moment in which they interact with the unique women of the crew. The pirate blond refers to Nami “Nami-san,” while Nico Robin with “Robin-chan”.
In a question and answer session with the author, published in the volumes of the manga One Piece, one fan asked the author how ever Luffy called Nami “Nami-san” and Robin “Robin-chan”. The latter is larger in terms of age compared to Nami, therefore, should be treated with greater respect.
“The “-san”, in fact, it's used to relating with people larger than the “-chan”.
Oda responded with these words to the question, and he did it as only he knows how to do:
“I have never thought deeply about, to be honest. Recently one of my staff members pointed out to me as a woman like to be treated as if they were young when it becomes bigger and treated like an adult when it is still small. My assistant he asked me if Luffy has this in mind as it relates to the two of them, and I replied in the affirmative“.
