On Twitter for Mac it is now possible to view the tweets chronologically

Twitter has just released an update for its official app for Mac with a feature long awaited: the chance to get a live stream of tweets recent. Users are now able to see all the tweets as soon as published, without having to manually refresh the timeline.

The third-party client, such as Tweetbot, were very popular because they offered this feature, but Twitter has disabled the flow of the tweet live to all with the changes made to its API in 2018.

Now, the platform has implemented the function for the first time in its official app with its latest update for the Mac client that, among other things, is based on the iOS app thanks to the technology of Catalyst.

To enable the flow of the tweet live is very simple. We just need to install the latest version of Twitter for Mac available on the Mac App Store, click on the star icon in the top of the app and enable the option “Pin to top“, which enables the streaming of the timeline.

What's that new button in your timeline settings on Twitter for Mac? It's a “Pin to top” toggle!

Turning it on will keep you at the top of your timeline and let the latest Tweets stream in -- no need to manually refresh your timeline.

Once enabled, the new tweets are loaded automatically in the background, and then, are immediately displayed as soon as we scroll the Timeline. This feature will also come to the official app for the iPhone and iPad.
