Oblivion Song: in developing the movie based on the comics of Kirkman and De Happy
Universal Pictures and Skybound are joining forces to develop a drama sci-fi based on the latest comic book by Robert Kirkman, better known for The Walking Dead, and the Italian Lorenzo De Happy.
The comic was launched in 2018, and currently has 15 numbers in the United States, while in Italy it is published by saldaPress with two volumes of the assets.
Sean O'keefe will take care of the screenplay of the film, after having held that in the movie Wonderland.
The film will be produced by the team at Skybound, which includes Kirkman, the writer of The Walking Dead's David Alpert, along with Bryan Furst and Sean Furst. The executive vice president of Universal Studios Jon Mone and director of development Lexi Barta supervisioneranno the project for Universal.
The original opera is set in an apocalyptic world, in which 300,000 citizens of Philadelphia are suddenly disappeared in what has been called Oblivion. Nathan Cole continues to look for a way to bring them back. However, the motivations of Nathan are more profound than a simple urge to help people.
Of course, being still in its early stages, we do not have neither a release date nor a cast.
