Napoli Comicon 2018: Brian Azzarello guest of the event
It was in the year 2003, and Azzarello was one of the guests the most anticipated of this edition of the COMICON, next to other well-known names in the world of comics.
The 2018 is an important year for COMICON, celebrating its first 20 years, that's why could not miss a big name, like Brian Azzarello, in the long list of guests that will alternate in the course of the 4 days of the fair this year.
Class of ’62, Azzarello began his career working with Comic Comics for Lady Bathory, Red Dragon, and Smash Mouth Comics. Noticed by editor Karen Berger, DC Comics assigns to it the character of Johnny Double. Knows Eduardo Risso, and together they give life to the success of 100 Bullets (1999), certainly the series that Azzarello is best known, and for which he received in 2001 the Eisner Awards. After working for two years on Hellblazer, while thanks to the fruitful collaboration with Lee Bermejo has produced success stories such as the popular Batman/Deathblow: the cross-Fire, Lex Luthor: Man of Steel and the Joker HardCover.
Brian Azzarello has also written “Batman Europa” together with Matteo Casali, Giuseppe Camuncoli and Jim Lee, and worked on “Dark Knight III: The Master Race”, the third chapter in the saga of the Dark Knight by Frank Miller, co-written, precisely, by Brian Azzarello and illustrated by Andy Kubert and Klaus Janson. It is a series of 9 numbers published by DC COMICS between 2015 and 2017 and published in Italy by RW Editions.
