Marvel: Donny Cates pays all the comics to the subscribers of a comic book store
The superstar of the Marvel Donny Cates has accustomed us to be out of the ordinary; and is not disproved. Given that most of the stores, including comic shops, continue to be subject to closures as a result of the pandemic coronavirus, Cates is one of the many creators of comic books who wanted to do his part.
As announced by Austin Books & Comics Tuesday afternoon, Cates has paid for all comic books ordered by readers of the store, a move that helps both the comic shop subscribers.
“Thanks to a fantastic support not only for the store but also for you, [he] has decided to pay all the comics subscription!” announced the store on Facebook. “If yesterday you were still a pull list in the store, now it's been paid for”.
The artists in the sector have all put in the game after the distributor of the sector, has interrupted the shipment of all the new products. At the beginning of the month, with icons such as Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, and Mike Mignola have all made original sketches to be auctioned to raise funds for the comic book stores and other areas that have suffered from the pandemic.
This week will be the third year without a new comic in stores, and it is unclear when Diamond Comic Distributors will restart the distribution.
