MacOS Catalina without iTunes, the DJ should postpone the update
The arrival of macOS Catalina also marks the official end of iTunes, the breach by almost two decades. The update, available to download starting from the evening of yesterday, it is, however, proving to be complicated for a particular category of users that use a Mac, or DJ's that have used the historic music software to manage their job.
With the removal of iTunes, announced during the WWDC this year, will no longer be possible to use the function "Share the XML of the library with other applications." The XML files are used by the DJS to share the organization of the tracks in the playlist with other applications - between the different examples, Rekordbox and Traktor . The playlists created with iTunes are still in the new Music app, but unfortunately the XML format is not supported.
In fact, therefore, the upgrade to the Catalina will stop the communication between the application and the many existing software, which is why, according to Apple, who is the DJ for the profession should avoid to upgrade their Mac and continue to use their favorite software on macOS Mojave until the developers will have adapted to Catalina.
