Actor Tom Ellis of Lucifer, has finalized a new agreement to continue to play the main character of the show for a potential sixth season.

The news of the contract extension then opens the way to renewal for the sixth season of the series on Netflix. Of the rest, many – if not all – of the co-protagonists of Ellis have agreements with them to commit up to season 6.

As reported by TVLine earlier this month, Netflix is in talks with Warner Bros. Television to extend the duration of the show beyond the fifth and “final” season was previously announced (and soon to be published).

After being aired for three seasons on Fox, Lucifer has been “saved” from Netflix in June 2018, a few weeks after its cancellation. The fourth season of 10 episodes was released on Netflix in may 2019. A month later, Netflix announced it had renewed Lucifer for a fifth season final, which is currently in its last weeks of production.

Season 5 will consist of 16 episodes that will be aired in two parts separated, of the eight episodes.
