As we announced the renewal of the season was only ten episodes, the same as that of the penultimate season, and then the extension 16 episodes will give to the Lord of Hell, a longer final.

Previously it seemed that we would not even have arrived at this point when Fox unexpectedly cancelled the show in may 2018. After a campaign by the large, loyal and enthusiastic fanbase of the show – joined by the cast and crew – #SaveLucifer became the trending topic on Twitter; and, a month after the cancellation, the show was picked up by Netflix for a fourth season of ten episodes.

The news of the new episodes has been reported for the first time from TVLine. Season 4 ended with Lucifer, who has taken up his throne in hell to contain the plague of demons that had come on the Earth, and it is clear that this was always the intention of how it would have ended the season, as they have also declared the hollywood Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson.

The cancellation of TV programs without any type of conclusion is an event that is disappointingly frequent (especially for Fox), so fans of Lucifer can be considered lucky, given that the show will end as expected. Many shows were initially planned in a span of five seasons, and then the six episodes of the extras offered to the writers, mean that the conclusion will not be rushed. Lucifer 5 does not yet have a precise date for the distribution.
